Indonesia is a republic
country, but the majority is Islamic religion, so it is normal when a fellow
Islamic countries visit each other. For example is the history visit of the
king salman to Indonesia few days ago. King Salman, who leads one
of the most conservative nations in the world, highlighted the need for all
religions to stand up for and protect the rights of their followers. Such a
move is important to curb the influence of radicalism and extremism.

Indonesian
Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said that Saudi Arabia’s King Salman will bring
two main missions in his visit to Indonesia: political and economic.
“It will be
a historic visit. The first visit of a King of Saudi Arabia after 47 years,”
Minister Retno said at the Presidential Palace compound in Jakarta on Monday,
February 27, 2017.
On the
other hand, she said, on the sidelines of the recent G-20 summit, Saudi’s
Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir said to Minister Retno that Indonesia and
Saudi Arabia have intensified diplomatic relationship in the last two years.

Retno added
that the meeting between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia will not only take place at
the governmental level but also at the parliamentary and business levels.
Indonesia’s close relationship with Saudi Arabia is deemed natural. Indonesia
is a Muslim-majority country. Moreover, Indonesia has a positive economic
outlook. I think the economy will be one of the main focuses of Saudi Arabia in
the visit to Indonesia.
Oil
refinery project in Cilacap will particularly be a key issue in the visit of
King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Affairs Minister sees Saudi Arabia as richly experienced in waqaf management.
Indonesia has only been allocating waqaf funds for charity purposes. He said

will always peaceful, growing and dynamic, either from political or economic
sectors.
